Handmade Soap Workshop – Mother’s & Father’s Day Event

Over 80 alumni and their families came together on the cool spring day of 10th May, 2014 for one mission – to create handmade layered soap and soap cupcakes for their proud mommies and daddies! Our instructors introduced the organic materials for making the soap, including a blend of 100% pure edible oils, water, shea butter, and organic aromas, and showed us the intricate steps for making soap. For some of us, it was like chemistry class revisited during the process with all the mixing, stirring and heating! Creativity was key in coloring the basic soap solution, layering them artistically, garnishing them with dried lavender and flowers and crafting them into yummy-looking cupcakes! Everyone went home with two fragrant and unique handmade soaps which she could proudly display or smiled at when she uses it!
