Art Club Mothers’ & Fathers’ Day Event

Over 70 alumnae and their families gathered at the Senior Art Room on the cool spring day of 7th May 2016 to create little oases for their beloved mommies and daddies. Participants were introduced to the art of Terrarium, and they learned about landscaping and the various layers of soil needed for healthy plant growth. Then everybody rolled up their sleeves and got their hands dirty to build their own miniature ecology models. Different types of soil, stones, activated charcoal, moss and plants were carefully transplanted into the round glass containers, and finally the terrariums were decorated with adorable cartoon figurines. Everyone went home with sustainable glass gardens to impress their loved ones!
